    Inside Look

What we love: Swimming to your room from the pool

Coral stone flooring, lagoon-style plunge pools and island-inspired artwork make your stay at the Colony Club feel laid-back but luxury.

Stay in one of the luxury swim-up guest rooms and swim from the pool to your room, starting the day with an energising morning dip. Freshen up with the foamy REN bathing products in the deep whirlpool tubs.

Fancy a quick yoga session? All rooms benefit from a yoga mat and a mahogany ceiling fan to keep you cool whilst you move between yoga poses.

    Taste the Luxury

What we love: A live food theatre and live music

This Barbados hideaway hotel knows just how to combine food and entertainment, hosting lobster and jazz Thursday, a live food theatre at Teppan-Yaki bar, and rum-based events at The Rum Vault.

Make the most of the Taste of Elegance Dine Around programme at select Elegant Hotels sister hotels on the island too. A free daytime West Coast water taxi will take you there in style.

The water taxi is a lovely addition to the hotel and it made days out much more fun – a lovely way to see part of the West Coast – Leanne Arthur

Don’t want to miss date night? Take your little one to the seasonal Kids Korner, a summer programme set up by the hotel, whilst you and your other half enjoy a meal out.

    Immerse Yourself

What we love: Complimentary cool flannels by the poolside

Wind down with five-element-based spa treatments in the spa, pick up the pace with speedboating on Oistin Bay, or learn how to paddleboard, which is now one of the fastest growing sports in the world!

Other luxuries include the swim-up bar and the poolside service, where staff offer canapes, chilled grapes and sorbets with cool flannels and complimentary sunscreen.

Barbados is known for being rich in wildlife and in the outdoor grounds of the hotel, you’ll find a koi pond filled with dozens of tropical fish. At check-in, kids get a bag of fish food to feed the fish.

For families, the hotel organises day trips, such as a visit to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, during the school holidays too.

We couldn’t have had a better start to our long-awaited holiday. Arriving at the Colony Club our bags were quickly brought off to our room and we enjoyed a complimentary welcome punch in the lounge area – Natasha Clifford
