The Journey
UK to Bogotá (2 nights)
Touch down in Colombia’s lively capital, set high in the Andes. Explore colourful La Candelaria, dip into museums and markets and take the cable car up Monserrate for sweeping city views. Bogotá’s food scene and café culture are also well worth your time.
Bogotá to Leticia / Amazon Rainforest (3 nights)
Fly south to Leticia where your Amazon adventure begins. You’ll be introduced to the rainforest with cultural and nature-led experiences, including an indigenous maloca visit. Expect guided jungle walks after dark, river journeys and time in remote reserves with opportunities for wildlife spotting and canoe exploration, finishing with a relaxing final night before your onward flight.
Leticia to Medellín (3 nights)
Next, you’ll head to Medellín, Colombia’s most innovative city. Explore neighbourhoods by cable car and soak up the laid-back café scene. Your stay includes a visit to a traditional coffee farm plus an excursion to colourful Guatapé and El Peñón, one of our favourite places in South America.
Medellín to Santa Marta / Tayrona (5 nights)
Fly north to the Caribbean coast for a change of pace. Santa Marta is the gateway to some of Colombia’s best beaches and natural scenery. Relax along the coast or venture into Tayrona National Park where jungle trails lead to palm-fringed beaches backed by turquoise seas.
Santa Marta to Cartagena (3 nights)
Travel overland to Cartagena for a show-stopping finale. Wander the walled old town, settle into the colonial rhythm and book sunset drinks overlooking the Caribbean. If you’d like one last beach moment, add a boat trip to the Rosario Islands.
Cartagena to UK
Fly home from Cartagena after an unforgettable journey through Colombia’s cities, rainforest and coastline.
